Risktec MSc validation success for distance learning

(Jul-11) Following an extensive validation process by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), Risktec's Master of Science in Risk and Safety Management has been successfully validated for delivery by distance learning.

The validation panel specifically commended the high-level of expertise of the Risktec teachers and the very industry-focused content of the programme, as well as the quality of the approach to creating and delivering distance learning.

The distance learning programme is delivered via the LJMU online learning environment, 'Blackboard'. Each module has the same aims and learning outcomes as the corresponding face-to-face module. The module material comprises slides and explanatory notes, as well as references to further reading and useful websites. Students engage in activities including online tests, discussion boards, group tasks and virtual classrooms. This approach encourages participation and interaction amongst students.
