Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Safety Engineers – nuclear and defence

Due to the continued success of our civil nuclear and defence industry business, we are seeking highly motivated, dynamic and influential individuals with a strong background in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (E,C&I) safety engineering, and experience in the Nuclear/Defence industries, to join our teams in Warrington, Glasgow or Edinburgh.
You will have a good understanding of the technical, engineering and managerial issues fundamental to safety and risk management for E,C&I applications within these industries. In addition, you will have an interest in business development and have excellent organisational and communication skills with personnel from the shop floor to senior management. Training can be provided for less experienced candidates.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical safety support and advice to clients
- Preparing and managing qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, ranging from Hazard identification, HAZOP, FMEA, FTA, SIL assessment, PES assessment, development of SFRs, design substantiation, ALARP assessment, through to safety case writing.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of standards, methods, data and use of appropriate software
- Producing formal technical reports and other project deliverables on time and to budget
- Managing and developing clients
- Developing new business
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of degree in science, engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience
- Technical safety and / or risk assessment experience
