These guidelines from Risktec describe the management arrangements for the control of recruitment, qualification and training of personnel required to deliver a suitably qualified and experienced workforce that are competent to undertake their roles.

SkillsXP is a competence information tool for managing skills, work experience, qualifications and training.

Collaborating with Tritanium, Risktec has this year introduced the SkillsXP software product into the UK.  SkillsXP has been updated to meet the needs of organisations operating nuclear licensed sites, specifically the requirement to demonstrate that the organisation is competent to operate and that organisational changes are managed.

Specified by Risktec and developed by our sister software company, Tritanium, the BowTieXP software is now available under licence to help organisations analyse and continuously manage their risks.  It allows risks to be visualised in a unique way, using the “bow-tie” methodology, and shows the everyday controls that are critical to minimising those risks.

Over the years there has been substantial progress in reducing health, safety and environmental risks. First generation benefits came from improving the intrinsic safety of engineering. Second generation benefits came through improved management systems. Today, third generation improvements can only be achieved through the integration of, and changes to, organisational culture, personal behaviour, management attitudes and workplace arrangements.
